Tiltaloo
A balance puzzle for a Ferris wheel that only runs at night.
Seat each gaggle in the car flying its colour, pull the levers one car at a time, and keep Pelham's old wheel leaning inside the green.
The gangway car flies a cherry pennant.
Everyone leans the wheel
Each rider pulls on the wheel by weight, and how hard depends on where their car hangs. The Tilt-o-meter adds it all up. A car at the bottom or right at the top adds nothing; a car out at the side adds its whole weight.
lean = Σ weight × sin(angle)Six things every operator learns
Read the pennant
The car at the gangway flies a coloured pennant. Only riders in that colour may climb aboard.
Seat the front gaggle
Tap the front gaggle in one of up to three lanes. Its one to three riders board together if the car has the seats free; a gaggle never splits.
Pull a lever
Left or right turns the wheel one car. Par is the fewest pulls the wheel can be cleared in.
Mind the green
Hold a lever to preview the lean. A pull that would leave the needle out of the green is refused with a creak and costs a nerve bulb. Three creaks and the wheel is Jammed!
Over the top
A full car is sealed. Fireworks go up as it passes the top, and back at the gangway its riders step off and it takes the next pennant from the Flag Line.
Clear the wheel
When every gaggle on the platform has a seat, the wheel is cleared.
Fifty-one wheels down the boardwalk
The map is one long walk of planks that forks twice, so you choose which way the night goes. Each stretch brings something new to the wheel.
Gate Planks
The first wheels: pennants, gaggles and the green.
Candy Row
Walruses come aboard.

Golden cars that seat any colour, and crate cars.
orBell Tower Plaza
Balloon pups, and a flag pole that repaints empty cars as they pass the top.
Fog Dock
A sea wind that swings round every few pulls.
orLantern Quay
Sweethearts who need an empty car all to themselves.

The far end of the boardwalk, under the beam.
Marks for the tidy, helpers for the stuck

Helpers found on the map
Closing Bell
A two-minute rush before the lights go out. The lanes never run dry, so seat gaggles as fast as the wheel allows and the combo climbs all the way to ×4. Your best ten runs are kept in the Photo Booth.
When the wheel stops
Every wheel you clear pays out Taffy. It is earned only by playing and spent only on looks.
Prize Booth
Trade Taffy for night skies, car paint, bulb strings and hub badges.
Photo Booth
Twenty-four pins to win for Pelham's jacket, beside your Closing Bell best ten.
Ride Counter
The statistics page: your nights on the wheel, counted.
Lamp House
A switchboard of big bulbs. Screw one in to switch on Music, Sound effects, Haptics or Gentle Tilt.
